FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS....

Q: How many scheduled practices or games will there be a week?
A: In most cases, we will schedule 2-3 "events" per week.  That may be two practices + one game or one practice + two games.  Weather may impact the schedule and require some make-up events which could impact that number but generally speaking that should be accurate.

Q:
When will our practices be held?
A: Each coach will have their own practice schedule which will not be known until after teams are selected (after Evaluation Day). Generally speaking, you can expect to have a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule with practices either held at 5:30-7pm or 7-8:30pm. Your coach may also opt to hold weekend practices.  The younger teams will typically hold the 5:30pm evening practice slots.

Q: Where will our games be played?
A: All home games will be played at George Pierce Park.  Any away game will be played at a neighboring Gwinnett County park (Lanier, Buford, Collins Hill, Norcross, etc)

Q: When is the first game?
A: Opening Day is usually the first Saturday in March for the spring and the first Saturday after Labor Day in the fall

Q: When will I hear from my child's coach?
A: The week following assessments, all coaches will reach out and introduce themselves. Practices will start that week.

Q: What does my player need to have?
A: Each player needs to have their own helmet, a glove, bat and cleats. Some positions require a chest protector.  Baseball/softball pants are not provided by the league.  Coaches will communicate the pants color once teams are selected and finalized.

Q: When can I register my child?
A: For spring seasons, registration is open from December 1 - January 31. For fall seasons, registration will be open from July 1 - August 15.

Q: My child was placed on a wait-list during registration.  What does that mean?
A: Being placed on a wait-list means that we are uncertain whether or not we will have enough players to field a team to accommodate your child.  For example, we have 15 players signed up for an age group.  That is too many for one team, yet not enough for two teams.  The best case scenario would be to reach out to friends, classmates and neighbors to try to encourage a few friends to join so that we have enough players to field an extra team which would allow us to eliminate the wait-list.

Q: Is there anything I can do if I missed the registration cut-off date?
A: In some cases, yes.  We will likely be able to accept a registered player beyond the registration cut-off date as long as it is BEFORE the Evaluation Day for the season in question.  Once uniforms are ordered and practices begin, we cannot accept any late players.

Q: How do I know which bat to get my player?
A: For softball, Tee-Ball and Peewee can only use aluminum bats. Minor League and up can use composite bats.  All bats
must have the USA stamp and/or the ASA stamp.  Baseball does not have a restriction on aluminum vs composite bats.

Q: How do I know the correct bat size?
A: Have the player hold the bat straight up in front of them, so that it makes a line. If the bat is too heavy the player will not be able to hold it up for more than a few seconds. If they can hold it for 10 seconds without wavering it could be the correct weight.
