EQUIPMENT:

Your player will need a bat, helmet and glove for the assessment (and a facemask for softball), but if you are missing any one of those items please do not feel the need to purchase anything before assessment day. Instead, please ask one of the volunteer coaches about the "Give-and-Take" tent where we will have some extra equipment available for those who need it. Cleats are encouraged but not required. Softball equipment will also be available for use during assessments for those that do not have their own.

We encourage you to wait until after assessment day to purchase any new equipment as we'll have a coupon available from Dick's Sporting Goods and you may get insight from the coaches at assessments about what your player specifically needs.

If you have equipment you no longer use/need at your house, please consider donating items to our "Give-and-Take" tent.

For those who are new to baseball or softball at NGBSA, these assessments are designed to quickly evaluate the skill level of each player so that we can balance out the teams. You can expect some hitting, running, fielding, throwing, and pitching (for the older age groups).

Here are some frequently asked questions about the assessments.

After assessments are completed the coaching staff will have a draft to set teams. Your coach will contact you (sometime the following week) and let you know when your first practice will be. Opening Day will be March 4th - please mark your calendars!

Let us know if you have additional question, and stay up to date on news here or Follow us on Facebook. See you at the fields soon!
