ASSESSMENT DETAILS - SPRING 2024

The individual baseball assessmentswill only take a few minutes, but depending on your place in line you could wait for ~45 minutes, so please plan on being at the park for about an hour.For those who are new to baseball at NGBSA, these assessments are designed to quickly evaluate the skill level of each player so that we can balance out the teams. You can expect some hitting, running, fielding, throwing, and pitching (for the older age groups).

All baseball assessments will take place at:

ROOKIE (Age 4) -No assessments. Teams will be contacted by coaching staff.

EQUIPMENT & OTHER INFORMATION:

Your player will need a bat, helmet and glove for the assessment, but if you are missing any of those items please do not feel the need to purchase anything before assessment day.Cleats are encouraged but not required.

The "Give-and-Take" tent will be setup where we will have some extra equipment available for those who need it.If you have equipment you no longer use/need at your house, please consider donating items to our "Give-and-Take" tent.

We encourage you towait until after assessment day to purchase any new equipmentas we'll have a coupon available from Dick's Sporting Goods and you may get insight from the coaches at assessments about what your player specifically needs.

Please plan on confirming jersey size/number and a Braves Country waiver (LINK HERE) that every athlete must complete. There will be a table with access to this form.

After assessments are completed, the coaching staff will have a draft to set teams and your coach will contactyou the week of Feburary 5th to let you know when your first practice will be. Opening Day for games will be March 9th - please mark your calendars!



Softball Assessments - Saturday Feburary 3rd & Sunday Feburary 4th
Softball assessments are set up to quickly evaluate the skill level of each player so that teams are balanced and fair for the spring season. There will be a rotation of hitting, running, fielding, throwing, and other drills (depending on age group).

All Softball assessments (expect the option #2 10U pitcher assesment below) will take place at:
George Pierce Park (Field 6 & 7)

There is a Braves Country waiver (LINK HERE) that every athlete must complete. There will be a table with access to this form.

Please bring your softball gear to assessments! (bat, glove, helmet, facemask etc.). Cleats are recomended, but not required. If you are new to the sport and do not have gear, there will be gear at the park that you can use for assessments. There will also be coaches there to answer specific questions about the specific type of gear you will need. Please don't feel like you need to rush out and buy anything before assessments.
